Temperature Sensor Assemblies
Thermometrics A-1325/A-1326 Temperature Sensor monitors the temperature of the incoming intake airflow for an engine and provides a signal output that is proportional to air temperature. This signal can be used as an input to a temperature gauge, or to provide input to an Engine Control Unit (ECU). The ECU then uses this information to adjust fuel delivery and optimize the air-to-fuel ratio to produce the most efficient combustion.
Thermometrics Battery Pack Temperature Sensor is a ring terminal temperature sensor that measures surface temperature. It is important to monitor the temperature on hybrid batteries for overcharging protection, as well as to optimize battery performance.
Thermometrics A-1737 Motor Coil Temperature Sensor provides temperature measurement of the motor coil to detect increases in current that could lead to failures, as well as to monitor temperature of motor windings to warn of over-temperature conditions.
Thermometrics Evaporator Temperature Sensor is used to measure evaporator core temperature. An evaporator cools the refrigerant in the HVAC system. Since the evaporator core operates at temperatures very close to 0°C, it is important to have an accurate and robust thermistor to measure its temperature to prevent the core from freezing.
Thermometrics Discharge Air Temperature Sensor (DAT) is used to measure the temperature of the air that is emitted from a vehicle's air ducts.
Thermometrics Fuel Temperature Sensor (FTS) is designed to measure the temperature of a vehicle's fuel and relay this information to the engine control unit, so that it can optimize the air-to-fuel mix ratio, depending on what the fuel temperature is with respect to the intake air temperature. Thermometrics Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor (TFT) measures the temperature of transmission fluid. It provides input to the control module to modify shift patterns for smoother shifting in automatic transmissions, and also provides over-temperature protection by locking the torque convertor.
Thermometrics Evaporator Core Temperature Sensor measures evaporator core temperature in a vehicle's HVAC system so that it doesn’t freeze over, preventing a costly repair. The ultra fast response time aids in the HVAC system efficiency by enabling the evaporator core to operate closer to 0°C without the risk of a freeze over condition.
Thermometrics A-1996 HVAC Duct Temperature Sensor offers OEM solutions for measuring the temperature of air in ventilation ducts. The temperature reading is wired to a control module, where the system compares the temperature reading to a temperature set-point and adjusts outputs accordingly.
Thermometrics A990 Series of Interchangeable NTC Thermistor Sub-assemblies consist of matched pairs of small, glass encapsulated thermistor beads which are connected in either series or parallel circuit configurations. These sub-assemblies are available in a variety of styles which enable them to be used in measuring the temperature of liquids or solids or to be encapsulated into larger housings such as hypodermic needles or closed end sheaths. The sub-assemblies provide interchangeable resistance-temperataure characterisitics in extremely small, fast response packagges, which are easy to handle.
