Nova Pressure Amplified Series from Amphenol Advanced Sensors is a critical component in cost-effective sleep apnea monitoring system.

The Nova Pressure Amplified (NPA) pressure sensor series from Amphenol Advanced Sensors is a cost effective, fully signal conditioned solution for the medical OEM industry in one of the smallest low profile packages available on the market. Having a fully signal conditioned sensor in an small outline integrated circuit (SOIC) package eliminates the need for costly external components, reducing costs and improving system reliability. Key applications include sleep apnea and respiratory monitors, anesthesia instrumentation and compression therapy equipment.

“The NPA series provides the cost saving features required to reduce our OEM customers’ system costs, while providing an accurate and stable measurement solution,” said Brian Wirth, Global Product Manager, Amphenol Advanced Sensors.

The series provides calibrated, accurate and stable pressure measurement in an industry standard 14pin SOIC package and is available in either 14bit digital or amplified output. With less than 1.5% of full-scale total error band, the NPA delivers best in class performance, size and value.

The NPA is available in tape and reel, ready for automated assembly, in pressure ranges from 0 to 10INH20 (inches of water) through 0 to 30 pounds per square inch (PSI), in gauge, differential and absolute versions, with manifold or barbed pressure connections. Best in class performance includes 60 times overpressure for 10INH20 ranges, mounting sensitivity is less than 0.3% full scale (FS) and position sensitivity less than 0.1%FS. Long-term stability is specified to be better than 0.1%FS per year
